Before I created my own blog, I had posted some written content over on Medium. However, I don't really use that site anymore and I wanted to have all of my online writing in one place. So I brought all of my old medium posts over here1.

It was an interesting exercise. Most needed some light editing in order to work in Markdown so I actually re-read most of the posts. It was interesting so see how my writing style has changed over the years. To be honest, I think a lot of stuff I used to write was overly enthusiastic2 and frankly some of it was cringy. That said, there are a few gems. If you're interested, I recommend going to check out Reflections on Turning 30 and Writing Good Commit Messages. Also, I realized I have more thoughts on Go I'll need to write about...

Footnotes

[1]: For the purposes of testing the blog engine I use for this site, I'd actually brought over one of the medium posts when I first created this blog. While doing this most recent exercise to bring the rest of the posts over, I realized I'd gotten the date wrong on this first post. I've corrected the date, but since I use dates as part of my post IDs in the Atom feed, this may have screwed up some of y'alls feeds. Sorry :/ If it's any consolation, I'm actually working on something to prevent post metadata changes from changing post IDs. Hopefully this is the last time we have this kind of problem.

[2]: But maybe being enthusiastic is actually part of the Kurtis charm.
